Marvellous New Magazine for Mums launches in Watford, Cambridge, Harrogate and Dorset

The UK’s only magazine for mumpreneurs, the Business Mum’s Journal, supported by Mothercare Plc, is launching new editions in Watford, Cambridge, Harrogate and Dorset in July 2010, meaning that mums in these areas can now join the nation’s growing army of mums in business.

Local mum Yvette Segal who already runs Plan-It Purple Virtual Assistance and Mum's Business Club in Borehamwood is really excited about the new project. “The Business Mum’s Journal is a fantastic magazine, which not only offers businesses the opportunity for low cost advertising, but is a great read too!”

The latest edition features Duncan Bannatyne as cover girl, but the magazine includes a number of really useful features. “My favourite article was the interview with business mum Laura Tenison, which included tips on how to get products stocked by big retailers,” says Yvette “but there are so many other useful tips, tricks and how-tos as well.”

The magazine was established as the Journal of online networking venue, which was the brain child of Jane Hopkins, who wanted to start her own business but finding no tailored help and support, she decided to offer help to other mums herself. The magazine has grown massively over the last year, and is now expanding to include regional editions from all over the UK.

“We wanted to make the Journal accessible to as many people as possible, and with the support of Mothercare and a network of hard-working mums, we think we can do it” says Jane, “and in the process we are both supporting mums who want a work-from-home opportunity like this and providing an advertising venue for smaller businesses who cannot afford the higher cost of many retail publications.”

Yvette agrees “Running the Journal works really well alongside Plan-It Purple Virtual Assistance and Mum's Business Club and I am excited to be part of the team!”

The Business Mum’s Journal is a 32 page glossy A5 magazine that is distributed through Mothercare stores and local venues by local editors.
